November 3, 2025 — Molson Coors Beverage Company is set to cut roughly 400 salaried positions across its Americas business by the end of December 2025, marking a major restructuring move as the company sharpens its focus on a rapidly evolving beverage landscape.
In an internal announcement confirmed by the company, the job reductions (representing about 9% of Molson Coors’ salaried workforce) are part of an effort to make the organization “leaner and more agile.” The brewer says the restructuring will free up resources for its “must-win” initiatives, including non-alcoholic beverages, ready-to-drink innovations, and premium beer brands.
Molson Coors expects to take a one-time charge of $35–50 million in severance and related costs during the fourth quarter. While the company did not disclose which teams will be affected, sources indicate most cuts will take effect before year-end.
The move reflects mounting pressure within the traditional beer category. Domestic beer volumes have continued to decline, while consumer interest in low- and no-alcohol drinks, flavored beverages, and functional refreshment has surged. In response, Molson Coors has expanded into non-alcoholic beer, spirits alternatives, and energy drinks through partnerships and internal development.
Despite recent diversification, the company is facing the same reality as many major brewers: to stay competitive, it must streamline operations and invest where consumer demand is growing fastest. The company emphasized that this restructuring aims to “position Molson Coors for long-term, sustainable growth” by realigning talent and capital toward innovation, brand building, and new product categories.
While the cuts are difficult news for employees, industry analysts say the move signals a clear message—Molson Coors is betting on a future that’s broader than beer.
